Installation & Maintenance

General Instructions

The tiles should be stored dry, with sufficient air circulation. If they are stored for more
than two months the packaging should be disposed off.

Granuflex roof terrace tiles are water permeable; in order to achieve optimal drainage we advise you to clean the tiles at least 48 hours after installing with warm water and a (neutral) cleaning substance. You can use for example a (not too hard) brush.

Before laying always note the exact size of the tiles first.

Laying Instructions

The tiles should be positioned on a hard surface that cannot be dented. In the event of installation for example on sand, this will invalidate our guarantee. We recommend once you have decided on the type of tile you require, making a layout plan first, in order to avoid unnecessary cutting and wastage.

Due to the way rubber expands and contracts (natural working), you should allow for a measurement tolerance (length/breadth) of 1.5%. Always keep sufficient space around the floor, to permit it to work. The empty space around the floor can be filled for example with gravel (or similar).

You should ensure that the water run-off under the rubber tiles is adequate by laying the floor at a slight pitch. The tiles can be cut to size with a sharp knife or a jigsaw with a coarse cutting blade.

Glueing Instructions

The roof terrace tiles are tested for wind resistance (Netherlands), in order to meet these values it is always necessary to glue the tiles together (sides of the tiles) with Granuflex® rubber glue. (Glueing also prevents the potential formation of seams due to expansion and contraction).

The tiles should be stored dry, with sufficient air circulation. If they are stored for more than two months the packaging should be disposed of.

Maintenance Instructions

Loose items such as sand, twigs, leaves etc. should be regularly removed with a broom. The floor can be made clean with a non-abrasive (neutral) cleaning substance.
